T L Graham & Son is one of Newcastle’s oldest and longest established Estate Agencies but ironically is also one of it’s newest. Founded by the late Thomas L. Graham in 1930 the business enjoyed tremendous success throughout the early years and was eventually expanded when Thomas’ son Denis joined his father in business in the early 60’s.
Denis then assumed full control of the business upon the passing of his father in 1980 and maintained a presence on Newcastle’s Main Street until late 2009 when he was approached by a local man, a young Chartered Surveyor, named Eric Ruddle, who with 20 years experience in the property business, expressed a long held desire to acquire the business from Denis.
Denis, who had been at the helm for 30 years was glad to facilitate the acquisition of the business by Eric and Eric is now engaged in a process of consolidation and modernisation in order to position TL Graham & Son in the market place for the next 30 years. When asked about the challenges ahead Eric says “this a new beginning for an old established business and I welcome the challenge.....the sky is the limit”.
There is a time when every business needs some new blood and Denis, who was looking forward to some well earned retirement, recognised this fact but was keen to see the name of TL Graham & Son continue it’s presence on Newcastle’s Main Street. Eric, for his part, always recognised the value of such a well and long established brand name and so is pleased to advise that he will be retaining the name of “TL Graham & Son” for the foreseeable future.
